Our History
The Tobacco Board of Zambia was established to bring order, transparency, and sustainable development to Zambia's tobacco industry. Since our inception, we have worked tirelessly to create a regulatory framework that protects growers, ensures fair trade practices, and promotes the growth of the sector.
Over the years, TBZ has evolved from a basic regulatory body to a comprehensive support organization that provides training, market intelligence, quality assurance, and advocacy for all stakeholders in the tobacco value chain.
Today, we regulate over 45,000 registered growers, 250+ licensed traders, and 12 sales floors across Zambia, contributing significantly to the national economy and rural livelihoods.
